Learning involves Collaboration and Interaction
I believe effective learning involves collaboration and interaction. Something that this article also argues, by Alastair Creelman. There are lots of useful online tools, many free of charge and open source that help us in our work and providing more effective teaching and learning.
A number of collaborative and interactive tools will be introduced as part of the Toolbox Talks.
In the article linked above, it describes many facets of collaboration:
- Collaborative writing and working
- Shared workspaces online
- News and resource gathering
- E-meetings and video conferencing
Over the coming months, we will be exploring tools that will enable collaborative working, for example, using a wiki for collaborative writing; sharng news through student and staff blogs; screencasting to share practical lessons.
